On the Carnival Inspiration stop in Encinada my son and I decided to skip the organized excursions and do our own tour. We took a taxi ($4) from the shuttle to this oldest winery in the area. The vineyards are now 15 miles away but the original buildings are still here. This winery has 27 vintages and some have won... More

My wife and I visited the Santo Tomas Bodega in the heart of Ensenada and took the museum & wine tasting tour. The staff there is very nice. Because we went on a Tuesday, there were no crowds; in fact, it was just another couple and us. So we got a very personal service. The museum is contained in a... More

Beautiful views from patio and a marvelous tasting area. Very helpful well informed multi-lingual staff. I ended up with several lovely bottles of wine in hand - whites and reds - including a delicious red from some of the oldest vines in Latin America. Chocolate, the worlds best olive oil on sale as well. Loved the visit...well worth the short... More

We went with a cruise tour and they did a good job of getting us in and out. However, their premium wines received nothing more than a general nod in the direction of the wall where they were shelved. I like good wine; an opportunity to taste them would have led to an opportunity to buy them. More

My girlfriend and I visited Santo Tomas between Christmas and New Years. The winery is in a beautiful location. The view from the top of the hill on which it sits is amazing. The tasting area has an incredible decor. The food and drink were outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff at Santo Tomas made the beauty of the... More

Street market on 7th every Saturday. Charlies has excellent hamburgers and Covellis, great pizza. The wine warehouses are very well stocked. The wine festival every September is worth visiting. Street is closed and excellent bands on a large stage. Wine by the glass. Fun. More

Visited this place and have relatives that live in Ensenada: it is safe. One of them drove us to the winery. Tijuana which is 2 hours away from Ensenada, not so much but safe to go through to. Take a bus to Ensenada, that will make you feel safer than driving your own car, even when that is also a... More
