We were at Ao nang for three nights for a short, but relaxing holiday :) I liked Ao Nang well enough, but the place is definitely not very well-developed. If you’re looking for a well-developed beach destination with white sandy beaches and pristine hotels, this is definitely not the place to be. It is very crowded with many small tailors,... More

I went to Ao Nang in May 2009 and it was really serene and quiet then. Fast forward to April 2012 and things have greatly changed, mostly for the worse. Bars have mushroomed and things have gotten a lot less serene and more noisy. I now have to find another hidden gem in Thailand. More

One of the most beautiful beaches in the world this definitely is not . Not much different to many of the beach tourist traps throughout Thailand . Beach is ok but far from clean and overcrowded from 10 am. Same tourist shops, indian tailors , seafood restaurants I have seen everywhere else . Don't get me wrong I enjoy all... More

This beach was gorgeous! I loved the fact that you could buy beer and food from the little boats. We walked over to Railay from here and it was an easy stroll through some lovely surroundings. Highly recommended. More

We had 10 Fantastic days in Ao Nang and as recommended in every guide book written one of the highlights is meant to be a day at Railay West. One guide book described this beach as Thailand's most stunning beach. After visiting Koh Lanta this is far from correct. The longtail boat trip was fun and this is well organized... More

A lovely place to unwind, helped immensely by the beautiful and charming Thai people, there is a very wide variety of accommodation, we chose to stay at Baan Pulaoon up the road about 700 metres from the beach, There is also a plethora of wonderful restaurants catering for every taste, especially like the roadside and beachside food vendors, all that... While the walk to the beach is a bit of a tourist trap selling the same thing over and over the beach does offer good swimming. It also has the tourist offices and dive shops for getting access to excaellent trips. there are loads of tuk tuks and taxisto get you from place to place. There are plenty of cafes... More
