Having not been here for 7 years, we decided to include it on the journey. checked into the camping ground behind the pools (great decision). Provided you are completly self contained the camp is great however I would not use the toilets, showers or kitchen. The good news was that camp fees where $30 and included a voucher for VERY... Living in Auckland, we've discovered these hot pools with a voucher from the supermarket. It's not the size we are used to in Europe, but you start to appreciate the warmth from the hot pools from the first minute you sit down in them. We particularly like the 2 calm pools, in 1 of them children are not allowed. We... More

Could do with a revamp. Looks a bit tired and some areas look a little grimy. The area where the hanging lockers were was a death trap as the floor was extremely slippery. Efforts had been made to reduce this but the surface was still like an ice rink! The remaining walkways were uncomfortable on the feet so take jandles... More

You need a car to get here from Auckland city and it's really not worth it as the pools and slides are pedestrian, loads of screaming kids running around and just not that nice. More

this place needs a facelift, the slides are boring, the hot pools are cracked and the buildings are rusting. If you have kids and just want them to watch tv some more then you might like the childs hotpool with the big screen tv that plays movies... but why go to a pool to watch tv? More

These thermal waters have been an attraction since 1875. Many water temperatures to choose from, coming from the ground. Many skin disorders are healed by just playing in the water all day. Fun pools for little kids, to big adult "kids" hydro slides for every skill.. Picnic areas, cafe, Native Chef if you want Maori food. And of course, the... More

If your kids love water and you like some place warm whether rain or shine, whatever season, this is the place to go. Plan to stay a whole day and pack a picnic, then the cost of entry will be worthwhile. Opens till late. We have 3 kids 4, 7, and 9. There were pools and slides for all the... More

We visited this spa resort one wet cold winters day. What a contrast. Loved the friendly staff, the variety of temperatures in the pools, the facility to leave and return, the easy storage facility.. all in all a great experience and yes, will will go back when next up that end of the country.
