Wow, take some water when you go. A relatively gentle uphill climb past beautiful old buildings and lovely flowers. At the top a spectacular view of the harbor and lovely historic gardens. There is Rum to be found up her too.

I have make the hike up and down these steps plenty of times and i just think its too funny that there is actually reviews on this. I know the history to the steps but i cant stop laughing at the people who write how they are disappointed with the steps. What did you expect- yes they are falling apart...

The 99 Steps on its own is not very exciting, but taken with the historic buildings, the view, and the other attractions in the area, its one of the must-see places in Charlotte Amalie.

Actually 103 steps. A tourist spot but it was quiet the day we went and great views.

We enjoyed the view from the top, and it wasn't too strenuous in the late afternoon, but there wasn't much else. Blackbear's castle was closed when we got to the top.

This is a rather historical site in Charlotte Amalie, steps built in the 1700's by the Danes because they didn't care for walking up and down the very steep hills in St. Thomas. I don't know why they call it "99 Steps," when it is actually 103, but the view fromt he top is worth the trek up these old...
