Wow, take some water when you go. A relatively gentle uphill climb past beautiful old buildings and lovely flowers. At the top a spectacular view of the harbor and lovely historic gardens. There is Rum to be found up her too. More

The 99 Steps on its own is not very exciting, but taken with the historic buildings, the view, and the other attractions in the area, its one of the must-see places in Charlotte Amalie. More

We enjoyed the view from the top, and it wasn't too strenuous in the late afternoon, but there wasn't much else. Blackbear's castle was closed when we got to the top. More

This is a rather historical site in Charlotte Amalie, steps built in the 1700's by the Danes because they didn't care for walking up and down the very steep hills in St. Thomas.
