The elevated platform was excellent for walking but most of the walk is on dolomite and with only trainers a great deal of the walk was spent watching where you were stepping rather than watching the trees for birds. I would definitely go early morning - we went mid morning and saw nothing.

This was pretty good, but there was more to hear than to see. The ones we saw were gorgeous. They are amusing, and can be pretty silly sometimes.

Make sure you have sturdy shoes. We did the walk in flip flops and I was so worried that my son was going to trip on the walk and fall off since there was railing only on one side of the walkway. But I was thankful that there was a walkway and we didn't have to go through the woods... More

I think we found it, nothing to see along the road

The man from whom we rented our car informed us to visit the preserve either earlier in the morning or at dusk. We visited at dusk and after seeing nothing at the marked reserve area, we backtracked to the Bight trail where we spotted two pair of parrots almost immediately, one pair over our heads in a mango tree.

The trail starts out as a wooden board walk with railings but it soon ends and turns into full on dolomite (ironshore) landscape.
