We drove up the bluff on the island to get to Peter's cave. If you are adventurous and love a good hike and a climb you can take the stairs path from the bottom of the bluff. The history of this particular cave is very interesting as the islanders used many of the cave formations for shelter during hurricanes. But... More

Amazing place where islanders go when hurricanes hit. It sits up high with an awesome view of the ocean.

Although it's not visually 'spectacular', this cave is interesting from a number of perspectives. First, it was the primary hurricane shelter -- and still serves as one -- for Brac residents living in the Spot Bay vicinity. In fact, because the residents are so friendly, we were able to find out a bit about this interesting cave. Several folks told... More

You can get to the cave from the top of the bluff from the lighthouse (easy) or from the lower road by NIMS things on Peter Road. The cave is where the locals went for years during hurricanes and it would be the place to go. It is a good climb up the bluff but handrails have been added to... More

a must when on Cayman Brac, the climb up the stairs may seem daunting but you can say you did it

I was told that Peter's Cave is the only one still used by locals as a hurricane shelter. You have a choice of routes to the cave. You can start from a parking area at the top of the bluff, pass Peter's Overlook with really great view of Spot Bay and the ocean, and climb down a rough stairway cut... More

The cave is used as a hurricane shelter and has interesting history. There are no amazing formations, but the structure is beautiful and the cave extends further into the bluff than I expected.

Peter's Cave is one of many caves on this tiny island. You definitely need a car to get there. You can get there from above at the top of the bluff (Peter's Cave parking area and then walk down the stairs) or below from the bottom of the bluff by driving up the narrow lane marked Pete's Cave to the...
