Go to the Little Cayman Trust Building and a volunteer will come out and assist by pointing out all the different birds and species, habits, etc. Great exhibit inside the building also. Check it out!
A truly lovely variety of birds. For some reason however, the birds were very wild and the slightest movement would scare them away. This is a great place to watch birds, particularly the Red Footed Boobies and Frigate Birds that breed here. Evenings here afford magnificant photo opportunities as the waters are still and highly reflective. Unique because of the Booby and Frigate population being the largest in the Western Hemisphere and are readily available for viewing from the trust House on Booby Pond.
We stayed at the Club Condos and in between dives visited the reserve. You will need along lens, say 400 to see the birds, but alot here
I eventually tracked down these elusive birds and it was worth it. Lots of wading birds and little chicks too.
In late March the island is bit dry, and the lake low and somewhat smelly. I'm not a big "birder" but it was still neat to see.

We walked down from LCBR one afternoon in March 2009 to check the Reserve out. Nice center, with information about the history of the area and about the birds. Nice decks to look out over the water. We were able to take it in quickly and head back to the resort.
