We took a day trip to Pinel Island and it was simply fantastic! The small ferry boat is $7 round-trip, and you catch it at Cul de Sac. It's literally a five minute ride. Rent chairs when you get there - you have 2 restaurants to choose from and each rents beach chairs and umbrellas. We paid $20 for 2... More

Of course it may be the view, or the water, the island, or the service! Gorgeous place with amazing views. We thoroughly enjoy visiting and swimming in the protected water off the island (a windy day Pine, is protected and has calmer beaches) Aurelius was a great server and we shared a cheeseburger which was good but the fruit plate... My wife and I visited Pinel Island and it was the best day of our trip. We made reservations at Karabuni for chairs right on the beach. We arrived at the boat dock around 9:00. Don't get in any hurry to get on the boats for the ride over, you are on island time. Bring cash for the boat ride,... More

Went to snorkel. I saw one fish about 2" long. Nothing but turtle grass to see. Got a bad bait and switch with the chairs/umbrella by one of the vendors. Definitely not worth the ferry fee.

We discovered this island on the snorkel trip, but take the Ferry over and spend the day. IT IS GORGEOUS! The water was crystal clear and warm, calm. It is beautiful.

The only way to get to Pinel is by boat. You can rent a boat or pay a water taxi to take you there. They have a snack bar and bathrooms on the island. Island is only about 1/4 mile in size but the beach is great. Fun experience with great views.

If you come to St Maarten it is a must to visit Pinel Island, as a day trip. Calm waters where you can venture out and the water is only chest high. There are two restaurants that rent chairs, we ate at the one with the yellow chairs, food was excellent. There is ample free parking by the ferry. This... More

Beach is beautiful. I ate lunch at Caribini and it cost $145 for a burger and red snapper!!! I would never go to this beach again because Mullett Bay and Orient Beach are nicer and have normal priced food.

This is the place to go if you just want to veg for the day, with beautiful sand, beach chairs and umbrellas delivered to you by a very tanned very good looking beach attendant, along with beer and restaurants with fabulous food, you cannot spend a better day.

The ferry ride costs was $7.00 per person to Pinel Island. The day we went the local government was there to make sure the owners of the ferry boat was not carrying more people than was safe to transport. It took a little longer for the boat to go over to the island, however, it was good to know that... More
