This street borders Hotel El Convento. At the top you are near El Morro and a plaza near the art institute. As you move down the street there is another small plaza and some small restuarants, as you pass El Convento there are small shops and art galleries where proprietors are friendly and welcoming, to the right you walk toward...

Nice if you are up there, it is worth a look, the lovely little park next door is absolutely FULL of Peigions!
The hilly parts of old San Juan adds to the character of this place. Church, trees, cobblestones, shops, restaurants m small squares, people, traffic, birds, locals playing guitar and serenading in Spanish all adds to the vibe of this gorgeous street. The brand shops are here too. Walk to the end of this street towards a "gate" overlooking the over...

Not very safe...we couldn't tell if the area was under construction or what was going on...there were no visible signs to veer you off danger and tell you what was going on? The streets are dirty filled with paper cups and other garbage and bad smells. I didn't see any vagrants but I could see remnants of some vagrancy activity....

Don't even think about driving. The traffic is impossible. However, the cobblestone streets are worth seeing. The shops are very nice and the Cathedral is located along the walk.
I walked Calle del Cristo from Calle San Sebastian. It has many nice stores. Ben & Jerry´s is located on a wonderful building. The Cathedral of San Juan is also on this calle.
The most famous srteet in Old San Juan, and the best restored. Home to the finest shops, Galleries and restaurants. Also the most imbortant historic sites. One of the only streets left with the authentic, original cobblestones.
You will find lots of stores and galleries around the area. This is a touristic area as it is closed to the pier where all cruise lines arrived. You will enjoy the blue cobblestones from Colonial times.
Be sure to walk up this street to view many historical areas. One of the fun things to do at the end of the road after you shop til you drop-is to play in the fountain. The children love it and so did I.
