I probably don't fit the typical demographics for the usual clientele so I wasn't too excited. I thought everything was over-priced and neither my partner nor I found anything here we wanted to buy. The shop was well merchandised, staff seemed friendly and some of the items would be interesting to others for sure. I just didn't think the prices... More

My wife loves exotic spices and nice coffee, so made a special point of finding this store. So glad I did. The product is top knotch, variety is ample - everything from bulk spice from the region, high quality Puerto Rican coffee, sauces (not just hot), rubs, etc... Try the banana ketchup! Also have nice gift items. But best of... More

On a recent trip to Old San Juan we were wandering the streets, not really looking to do shopping but managed to make our way into this little shop. With a small obsession for hot sauce, we knew we had to at least stop in. There were samples available so you could taste their sauces and tropical spicy jams. In... More

On a recent (may 2011) cruise to the Caribbean, while in San Juan, my girlfriend and I happened upon this shop while strolling through the "shopping" district. Let me tell you...never have I had such AMAZING personal service anywhere! The lady who helped us was the store's owner. She spent about 30 minutes with us, explaning the sauce-making process, the... I just returned from a trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico. While shopping in Old San Juan I visited the Spicy Caribbee spice store. What was so nice is the owner of the store had crackers and tortilla chips set out along with numerous different sauces and tropical jams to sample. It is great to know what you're getting vs.... My wife and I recently visited this shop, intrigued by the promise of locally-produced Caribbean spices to bring home as special remembrances of our trip to Puerto Rico. It can be found in the shadow of the Cathedral and an easy stroll from El Morro Fortress. We were greeted warmly by the shop owners and offered tastings, cooking advice and... More

The smell of the store never leaves you. It's like walking into the most wonderful aromas the Caribbean has to offer. All the items available (Sauces, spices (obviously), gifts, books, perfumes) are made locally and are usually something you've never seen or tasted before. They were so nice and helpful when we came in. We walked out with a bunch... More

Very nice store, lots of good spices and sauces made in the Caribbean. Beware their neighbor, Kamel International Bazaar, which posted a fraudulent charge on my credit card shortly after I left their store. More

We stumbled on this store in Old San Juan and found a great selection of interesting caribbean spices and unique Puerto Rican products. It's a beautiful, inviting little shop. I was so happy to find it after all the junk souvenir shops in Old San Juan. More

We have made Spicy Caribbee a must each year for the past 22 years as part of our rebonding with Puerto Rico. Their coffee is a must--one of the best in the world. We freeze the beans and thaw and use them throughout the year. A palate of great spice mixtures are likewise must purchases to enhance home-prepared dishes. Nereida... More
