I think this would have been a much better experience if we had gone when it was sunny. It seemed like a short boat ride, but it was very relaxing. Our tour guide was informative, but we only saw one crocodile the whole time. He said it was because they really like to come out to sun themselves & it... More

We did the Black River Safari thru an excursion from the hotel that packaged three attractions together. There were plenty of gators to see, funny tour guides, wild birds, a beautiful river that was great for photos. We were able to see a guy who was spear fishing in the river with the crocs very crazy but he must have... More

Black River is excellent for seeing crocodiles, birds and plants. Great photo opportunities galore. Over the years I think I've been with most of the guides. My favourite is Lando, a Black River fisherman with over 25 years experience. He seems to be the most knowledgeable guide and has a real love for the river and its nature. I prefer... More

While in Montego Bay, my husband and I were interested in visiting YS Falls and so we booked an excursion at the hotel to do so. But the excursion also included a trip to this black river safari, so we didn't really have a choice. I was not particularly interested in seeing the wildlife or crocodiles of the Black River,... This was a wonderful visit, although the exotic spot may be a little challenging to get to. Our driver and guide made sure we did, with plenty of time to spare. I don't know any other way to really get into the river wildlife scene of the Caribbean, which is so incredibly abundant. You get to be up close and... More

The boat ride up the Black River was very relaxing and we had a chance to see some local wildlife. The crocs were a bit sleepy so we didn't get to see the big ones, but it was still neat to see them in their native habitat. We did trip in combination with YS Falls and a tour of the... More

We visited here as part of a tour on the south western part of Jamaica. The boat trip on the river was wonderful and lasted about an hour with a well informed skipper who pointed out crocodiles, birds, plants etc. The crocodiles are fed small pieces of chicken and you can see them close up. Really enjoyable. More
