You have to bargain with the guides or they will gip you of everything you've got. They initially tried to charge us RD 1700 ($43 USD) for the both of us but we were able to talk it down to RD 1100 ($28 USD) without the lunch packet. I'm sure we would've been able to talk it down to RD... More

First of all no one told us that the only way in was on a horse! The track was extremelly worn and rocky and my heart melted for the guides(one walking the entire trail per horse) and the poor horses! When we arrived at the end of the trail it was down, down, down on foot...Then up, up, up on foot coming... More

We made the trip on horse and it was very nervous, there's a lot of mud. After you reach the area where the horses can go you have to walkabout 1 km. downhill on stairs... its best to use rain boots, its very very muddy, but the guides are extremely helpful and attentive. More

We went by horseback through the hills and valleys to the falls. Each horse had a guide walking beside pointing out different plants and points of interest. The guides are very helpful, friendly and informative, and most times they own the horses you ride, so even though you are not obligated, I recommend tipping them for all their help. They... More

Ok, we thought we'd be clever and walk without a guide and in the end we had to hire one to take us there, but it was well worth it. Yes, it's muddy and you have to walk in some horse crap, but i would not want to be on a horse on that trail. It just seemed too steep... More

We went to the falls with a group of 20 people. The horseback ride gives you a good chance to ride through some hilly terrain with some good views of the palm/pasture dominated landscape. This is a very busy trail with many large groups using the trail to access the falls. Each rider has his/her own guide who, supposedly, relies... More

I would highly suggest that if you are not a fit individual -- dont go! There are alot of stairs to do and they are not very wide at some points but overall a great experience even with a sore bum... lol As far as tipping it is your choice what to give and they are very grateful for what... More
