the gardens are large and generly well kept. there are a no. of different areas, such as the area of various classes of palms. a very nice Japonese garden, water plants, bromelias and orchids, etc. the cost is moderate and the walking paths extensive. suggest comfortable shoes and avoiding the heat of mid day. will worth visiting and considered safe.

if you have a little extra time, take a drive cross town to the
botanical gardens.
they have a nice small museum that explains the different regents
of the country and a train that takes you around the gardens, with a tour guide. i am not sure if english included, but it is very worthwhile.
