It was a great experience. You can see how Columbus' son lived. The artifacts were beautiful and the building itself was quite impressive. Well worth the time and money to see.

This is a must stop for any visit to the DR. this has a lot of old artefacts that date to eh 1500s. Its impossible not to sit there and imagine that this is where it all started for the new world.
I was a bit disappointed in the staff this time. We got there about 10 minutes before closing...

Undoubtedly one of the highlights of a visit to Santo Domingo. Obviously this building is stunning and steeped in history, but it is also well presented as a tourist attraction. The audio tour lets you enjoy the history at your own pace, and it won't cost you an arm and a leg to visit. Be warned that it is closed...

Very interesting museum, a portrait of the history. Located right in the west bank of the Ozama River and very close to the caribbean sea.
On the main plaza, so a good thing to do on your way pretty much anywhere. Feel good to be in the shade for a while and you will not be disappointed by this museum. Beautiful furniture, decorations, history. The audio tour is very helpful and trying to imagine yourself back in those days is quite fun. A hope and...

We did not go inside, but loved the plaza on which it stands. In the evening go here and drink some sangria and look at all the lights around the plaza and palace.
We did an Apple Vacation tour called "Santo Domingo" and I was pretty impressed with the amount of history in the museum. It was about an 1 1/2 hour drive from La Romana. We had headphones that described each room and its contents from a guided tour.
See how the original European inhabitants of the city lived. Admired the furniture and art. Enjoy the incredible views of the river. Take a photo of your kids in Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand cut-outs. don't miss it
Enjoyed touring this unique place. We have a 10 year old and 2 year old and there was enough to keep their attention. We did the audio tour in English which was very helpful. There weren't a lot of people there but if it is busy it wouldn't be as enjoyable. I liked the study the best. Another must see...
