To make the most of our stay I booked a surfing lesson for my last day in barbados and I was very lucky that Jay was free to take me out for a morning lesson before the flight home to the UK... Clear and expert instruction and very helpful advice in the water (as well as a few helpful tows... More

A friend and I recently decided to take a last minute trip to the exotic island of Barbados where in just 3 days this incredible adventure led us to swim with turtles, explore the island, and even take surf lessons. It was at the Amaryllis Beach Resort where I discovered the surf shop and school that is run by the... More

3 coordination challenged girls, booked ourselves in and we were all able to get up on the board and felt really cool when we did. We got picked up and dropped off, communication was excellent and the instruction was fantastic. We got a great lesson, interesting conversation and had an amazing time. A must do during a trip to Barbados,... More

We came back to Surf in Barbados for a 2nd time this month and it again was one of the highlights of our trip to Barbados. Three years ago, Jay took us out almost every day of our weeklong stay and he went out of his way to make sure that our experience was top notch. This time, we surfed... More

Russell taught our 20 and 14 year old to surf in a 2 hour lesson. He was a very good and attentive teacher and the spot is just down the beach from the Hilton Hotel. Highly recommended for a first experience in a safe place to learn to surf. They loved it. More

Dread or Dead is a fantastic place to surf whilst on the beautiful island of Barbados, whatever your surfing proficiency. We had surfed a fair bit before but were struggling with progressing to surfing the bigger waves and really looking like we knew what we were doing! We had a two hour lesson with Russell, the owner of DoD, and... More

Matthew took myself and two others out. After a brief but professional session during which he gave us the lay of the land with the boards on the beach, we were in the water. He gave many more pointers in the water and made really helpful suggestions. We all got up on our boards during our first lessons. He means... More

My wife and I just returned from our honeymoon in Barbados. One of the most memorable days was the 3 hour surfing lesson with Russell. First off, he's a great guy and very funny. He was very patient with us and had us riding waves in no time. Neither me or my wife had ever surfed, snow-boarded, skateboarded, ice-skated, roller-bladed,... More
