Folkestone is fabulous if you want to introduce your children to the world of snorkelling! You really do not have to snorkel out too far with them for them to enjoy the beautfiful fish and underwater scenary! You may even be blessed if you look really carefully and like our 6 year old daughter, got to see her first Moray... More

Some good snorkelling. Beach is clean with some trees for shade, small beach bar and sunbeds for hire. Great place to sit and wait for sunset with a mojito More

My wife and I snorkelled in the protected area here numerous times during our two week stay. Although we tried snorkelling at other beaches with a dive buoy, this was the best place to go. It was not that busy and felt less commercialized than other beaches. On the weekend, there are picnics and activities, but the beach is still... More

We had a great time at Folkestone with our kids (7 and 9). The beach is small, but we weren't there to lie on the beach! Good snorkelling, although it can be quite wavy close to the shore. The kids got quite the haul of shells and sea glass there. There are good amenities like picnic tables (in the shade... More

This is a great little marine park for snorkellers; not far off the beach there was quite a diverse fish population, some of whom I'd been looking for elsewhere with no luck (Honeycomb Cowfish? Finally!). There's quite a bit of fire coral around so it's worth avoiding it here at low tides. I'll be back! More

Good for seeing fish - but not much live coral. Good toilet and shower facilities,. Security staff on hand. A short bus ride north of Holetown. More

I love going to Folkestone for a mini adventure. The gear is cheap to rent and you can have it all day. There are lifeguards watching over the area and a couple shops for snacks and souvenirs. It's never overly busy, and I feel pretty safe leaving my stuff on the beach to go snorkelling. Right now (January 2012) is... More

Locals love this beach and the aromas of their picnics and grilling will make you salivate. Snorkeling is very good here. More
