They are hot! You can purchase eggs to boil in the 105 degree water at the hot springs. The eggs come in a little basket that you hang from a hook. There are several vendors selling eggs, water, ice cream, snacks, etc. You can sit with your legs in the hot springs - as long as you can take it!... More

After spending the morning and early afternoon at the Elephant Conservation center our tour group had the opportunity to do a bit of relaxing at the hot springs. This was the only hot springs that we visited on our tour, but I understand that there are more than a few in Thailand. The first area that we went to was... More

My Thai wife and I went early and were told that the yellow songtail (converted pick-up) from the flower market was a regular service there and back.It was easy to take the bus in the morning and after a detour the driver made delivering the vilage groceries we eventually arrived and this we did not mind it made the journey... If you travel around northern Thailand for any amount of time you will visit many a hot spring. While this one is better laid out than others, it is not worthy of a special trip. The geyser itself is cool and you can purchase eggs for boiling, the sit with your feet in the warm water while eating. If you... More

San Kamphaeng Hot Springs are only accessable by entering the resorts in which they lie. The one resort better kept the other more rustic. Either way, the sulpher springs may be interesting but nature around the geysers has been manicured-not much nature left. More

What it IS: Friendly, affordable (I'd say cheap), clean, family oriented, frequented by locals and Thai tourists more than foreign tourists, made for the masses. What it IS NOT: A day spa, upscale, expensive, touristy, a calm and quiet spiritual bathing location. COSTS (As of 29 December 2011): -10B to park a motorbike - 40B per adult to enter Bathing... It was an hours drive away and we left about 8.30. When we arrived, it was empty and peaceful. Entrance fee is only Baht 20 and we were told if want to use the swimming pool etc we would have to pay. Our main aim was to let our kids experience hot springs and geyser. Yes, it is commercialised but... More

Because we visited Chiang Mai in the “winter” when it’s a little cooler than other times of the year, a chance to soak in a hot springs pool was just the ticket after a couple days of trekking. We easily found the Yellow Taxi (songthaew), clearly marked San Kamphaeng Hot Springs along the Ping River bank by Warorot (also called... More
