Our starting point for the Blue Ridge Parkway was Ashville,North Carolina. We could either head north or south. We choose north driving in the direction of Virgina. Our DK USA tourist guide described the Parkway as "a scenic two-lane highway." The Parkway actually runs for almost 470 miles along the Blue Ridge Mountain ridge-line.
