The begining of the hike is steep and boring. Once you finally make it to the top (of the begining of this hike) and turn the corner, the canyon definetly takes your breathe away. After alot more steep hills we finally made it, it was definetly worth it!!! We had a picnic at the ledge all by ourselves since not... More

Our family of 5 made it up to the top of this 8 mile round-trip hike--a 2100 ft climb with some very scary drop-offs. Certainly safe if you are prudent and careful but some serious drop-offs in several spots. Our kids are 11, 14 and 15 and were able to do the hike, but it is strenuous and you need... More

We decided to do his hike before leaving as we were told that it was unmissable... Unfortunately A photo won't be able to describe the view, the feeling, the "wow" but also the pain and efforts to get to the observation point. The guide recommends 5 hrs return trip and we did in about 4 hr. However you must be... More

Observation Point is typically reached via a four-mile hike up from the floor of Zion Canyon. (It can also be reached by a hike over the mesa from the eastern part of the Park, but very few people take that route.) Observation Point is about 500 ft higher than Angel's Landing and has a vista over the majority of the... More

We were a little intimidated with Angel's Landing, but we really wanted to climb up a mountain. This hike is a great balance of amazing views!! (2,000ft high!) and not as scary because there is a trail the whole way up. Give yourself a few hours (around 6) round trip, including spending lunch at the top of Observation Point. Definitely... This was one of the most spectacular views we've seen, and probably the best at Zion (it is higher than Angel's Landing). We got there with a easy-to-moderate 3 mile (1.5-2 hours) hike on the East Mesa Trail. While this trail is not particularly unique, it is an easy, efficient way to get to the amazing Observation Point, and there... More

Hiked it several times (we live in the area) and always enjoyed it. Great workout! Fantastic views! I did it even when I was pregnant (though in very good shape, otherwise not recommended). More

We made it to the top with a 9 year old and an 11 year old, but it was really tough. It took us a little over 5 hours and that's with plenty of time for picture taking. On our way down we were putting odds on if the people we passed would make it to the top. Certainly worth... More

This hike is absolutely beautiful! I think it's the nicest hike in the park. The length and climb keep most people off this hike so it doesn't have the crowds like Angel's Landing. (But we also hiked this in the off season so I assume all hikes are crowded during the busy season) More
