We hiked the Taylor Creek trail and the La Verkin Creek trail. Both were fantasic and I would highly recommend them. Even if you just do the scenic drive, the scenery is gorgeous. If you didn't do Angel's Landing or Observation Point in Zion valley due to veritgo issues, you can get longer, more level trails (still steep in some... More

This was our third trip to Zion, but was our first to come to the Kolob Canyon area. The first two, we would always go to the main area where the shuttle bus covers in the summer, along with the Mt.Carmel Highway area. This time around, we took the extra effort to go "up" the 15, since we are traveling... More

We drove here on our last day at Zion, and really enjoyed the very scenic drive to the short Overlook Trail and a picnic. You get a different view of the park in this area, and it is less crowded. There is a small visitor center with bathrooms and a gift shop at the entrance.

Oh my gosh, this place is stunning. I almost found it more interesting than Zion Park itself. There are two trails here that are great. There is Lee Pass Trail that takes you to the Kolob Arch. this one is for the experience hiker!! My husband and I tried it and it was so up and down, I think we... More

After experiencing the crowds in the Zion Canyon area of Zion National Park, my wife and I visited the Kolob Canyons area at the far north end of the park. We found a scenic drive with a couple of nice hikes with interesting views, and no crowds. The entrance is right off I-16 and is a convenient stop on the... More

Kolob Canyons was very pretty and lots of places to pull over to take pictures. The park itself is not very long, but very nice. Lots of areas for hikers. It was really neat to see that they had taken the time to pave the park with red asphalt so that it did not take from the landscape. People that... More

This has breathtaking scenic views and is a must see. While not in Zion, it is actually much like it. The admission price of $25 is good for 7 days at both parks. The Kolob Canyon drive is a 5 mile, one way in, one way out well maintained paved road. Take lots of photos as every corner brings another... More

My wife and I stayed on the main road and stopped at the scenic overlooks.Outstanding, magnificent peaks, distinctly different from those in the main portion of the park. Kolob Canyons is accessed from I-15 south of Cedar City and is about an hour away from the main park.

Kolob Canyons is so incredibly beautiful! This is a must see, even if you have no time to hike. It's an easy drive up and the views are SPECTACULAR! It can be VERY cold to top of the look out, so dress for cold weather and wind if you're visiting in the cooler months. We visited in late March and... More

There are numerous trails along the Kolob Canyon, with a variety of landscape and views, all lovely, but even the turnout loop at the top that is accessible for even wheelchairs is breathtaking and a worthwhile stop.
