We were there during Memorial weekend and the trail was very busy. I hiked all the way with my kids. On the last 1/2 mile there were multiple paths where only 1 person can pass, so we had to wait for the traffic to clear or people taking photo before we could proceed. The view from any spot is really... More

If you like scenic hikes with dramatic views and little bit of work then do this hike. It looks so much harder and scarier than it actually is. That being said, if you have a fear of heights then this is not the trail for you. Go either very early, or later in the evening. Not only will the temps... More

We started early, so the trail wasn't very crowded. On the way down, we passed a lot of hikers, so I would suggest starting fairly early as its more peaceful that way. We made it most of the way, but I was just too anxious to go all the way up where you have to hold on to chains while... More

While majority of this route is merely a hike, steep and switchback laden, but on a paved, easy to follow trail, the upper portion of the mountain presents a great challenge, especially for those not comfortable with heights. The trail is narrow and often exposed. Metal chains aid the climbers who accept the challenge. The reward is a spectacular 360... More

This was a beautiful and exhilarating hike but was crowded in midafternoon. That made it a little hairy on the narrow portions but it was well worth doing. Not a difficult hike physically, but if you have any anxiety over heights it can be very tough at times.

beauxp has covered everything in great detail, I just thought I'd add some pictures. We made it through the first set of chains, by which time we were already feeling a bit height-sick. The view of the Angel's landing and the final portion of the hike was pretty intimidating, and we were unable to continue to the top. Even through... More

I agree with one reviewer, the trail is too crowded for how dangerous of a trail that it is and I would guess in the not too distant future you will have to have a permit. You catch the trail at the Grotto bus stop, cross the Virgin River on a bridge and then turn right. As you round the... More

This was a fantastic and exhilarating hike! The last 0.5m up the Angels Landing fin was just brilliant! We drove at 5:45am from Hurricane town, and were on the walk by about 6:45am so that our pale English bodies would not be cremated - I strongly recommend doing that, personally I could not walk more than 100m in the noon... Plan 3-4 hours depending on the crowds and time of day, it takes about an hour to get to Scout's. Beyond that since there is one chain but two way traffic there can be some log jams and some waiting. The last bit is worth it but I wouldn't suggest taking children on this part given the danger. Great views... More

We are amateur hikers and loved this hike. You need to go into it prepared to work hard and drink lots of water. It took us around 4 hours round trip, and by the time we were done, we were ready to head to the hotel and hit the pool. The views, however, are incredible. There is no way to... More
