I did this hike a long time ago but I remember it well. The views are fantastic. It's a great workout and close to Washington. More

The hike upto the summit or to a vantage point where u get a good view is average...dont get to see much variety in the forest or the landscape. once u get closer to the summit u get to see spectacular scenery in the valleys and surround area. we did not go all the way to highest point since there... If you can only do one hike in Shenendoah, this is it! Views are outstanding and scrambling among truck-sized boulders is a lot of fun! You won't be disappointed. Get there early because the trail gets more crowded as the day goes on. More

THe day after I hiked Old Rag, I wasn't sure my thighs were ever going to forgive me. It was a beautiful day for me and my friends to go up, and the views from the top made the climb worth it. It does get crowded, so if you can go mid-week, you'll have more quiet time. Definitely worth the... More
