Since I live in Loveland, I've been to Estes Park many times, at all times of the year. I've already reviewed Trail Ridge Rd., so here is my take on another way to arrive at Estes Park driving from the east. Traveling west from Loveland on Hwy. 34, take Devil's Gulch Rd. at Drake. The road is paved, but curvy... More

Whether you treat Rocky Mountain National Park as a destination or a side trip, you have to place it on your itinerary if you are going to be in the Colorado Front Range area. The spectacular mountain scenery found on the East side of the Continental Divide is not to be missed. A word of warning: This park is popular... More

Until Memorial day you can't drive all the way thru. There are still snow packs on the high roads. The drive up and then back down offer spectacular views and vistas. Support our National Parks! More

Shopping, Rocky Mountain National Park, Stanley Hotel...we only spend 4 days and didn't come close to doing everything we wanted to do. I didn't expect it to have as much to offer, and would love to come back and spend more time! More

Beautiful national park. we saw elk and marmot. The park rangers were very friendly and knowledgeable. The mountains were breath taking. We would definitely do it again. only complaint was that there were no water fountains and the visit centers were closed while we were there. More

WOW! A true national treasure. We have been here before, but really never interacted with the rangers until this trip. Visited both Beaver Meadows and Fall River Visitors Centers, the rangers were wonderful. They interacted with us and other travelers giving helpful information and ideas. Listened to a ranger led discussion for 30 minutes that was very informative. Kids picked... More

What a fun town! Lots of unique shops with many things you won't find elsewhere. Then you can fish, camp, and ride horses among so much more. Trail Ridge road is very scenic but does close due to the massive snow storms which can happen at all time of the year. As for Estes Park if you're a smoker good... More

....which is why I like Estes Park much MUCH better than Lake Placid (its too freakin snobby there). The views are just beautiful coming into Estes Valley from the Big Thompson Canyon. And of course RMNP. Estes itself is a great place to people watch. The Riverwalk (on the backside of the main business/tourist street) gets better every passing year.... More

Rocky Mountain National Park is a must-see if you are in the Estes Park region. My husband and I traveled there in October and were lucky to drive Trail Ridge Road, which is normally closed at that time of the year. It is the highest paved road in the US, and very winding and steep, but sooo worth it to... More
