My young adult son and his girlfriend did this tour at Mammoth Cave and LOVED it! They highly recommend it and would love to do it again. You have to make a reservation and they do fill up, so plan ahead if you want to go.

It's hard to get a sense of what to expect if you've never done one of these before. I've been in caves but have never been "caving," so it was a little tough to tell which tour to sign up for! I did this one with a friend and it is indeed as difficult as the park's website claims if...

The wild cave tour is a must for anyone seeking adventure. It is very physically demanding and challenging. This is not for the overweight or out of shape couch potato. They are very serious about the 42" size limit, as we had two larger young guys on our trip and neither of them could fit through the first two openings...

Wow… I am pretty athletic and have done some intense outdoor outings in my day, and I will tell you that this was up there with the best of them. In the first 2 challenging hours, we squeezed through the tight “bare hole” and “birth canal” passages that can be read about in previous reviews, along with a few other...

Mammoth Cave is must see place. The park is beautiful. Their website is a bit confusing, though, as not much information is given about where to go and what to do. All caves must be entered by buying a ticket for a tour. But do this! The tickets are very very cheap- the one I went on was only $5...

If you are worried about your size to get thru some of these passages and small openings, you should be. The measurments they have on the Web site is pretty spot on but a little secret they don't and won't tell you is that they will find an alternate route with no disruption to the tour if you cannot fit...

I just returned from a trip to Mammoth Cave including the exceptional Wild Cave Tour. It was physically challenging, a little scary, and incredibly cool.
The first section of the trip involved crawling through progressively smaller passages (from hand and knees, to elbows and knees, to flat on stomach) until we reached the infamous Bare Hole. Everyone in my group...

This cave trip is purely amazing. You get to experience parts of the cave that no one else gets to experience. This trip is definitely for fit individuals because of the pace at which the tour travels. After going through the long small tube in the very beginning, you get adjusted to the tight and cramped areas, in which there...

Took the tour with my 20- and 16-year-old daughters yesterday. What an experience! I took this tour 35 years ago, apparently within the first 5 years following its inception. Memory fades, but I think it is much more challening now. Not surprising. "Extreme" is just a different beast in physical challenges now.
"Bare hole" was about the toughest passage of...
