Cades Cove is my favorite sections of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is awesome for photography and I am not just saying that because I lead instructional photo tours at this location.
I is very scenic so the landscape photo opps are excellent. Mountains, waterfalls, streams, wildflowers, valleys, old churches, historical structures. What more could you want.

One of the best places for photography. * note park is closed to vehicle traffic early mornings on Wed. & Sat. * Go early morning just after sunrise or late afternoon for the most animal action. We have been thru this park several times and were just passing thru but couldn't be this close and not ride thru Cades Cove....

One of the most beautiful places in the Smokies is Cades Cove. The key is to go early for the scenic drive so you can enjoy the historic stops along the way. Driving around Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountain national park is a must if you visit the area. Either go very early or an hour before dusk. That way you should see all the animals including bears also it can get very very busy during the day and the cars are bumper to bumper and then definitely not as enjoyable.

Cades Cove is certainly worth a visit and can best be experienced on a bicycle on Saturday or Wednesday mornings when car traffic is blocked until 10:00am. NOW, if you have not brought your own,m they rent them at the store there, but the store does not open until 7:00am and that stops you from getting on the loop road...

In my opinion, this place is tied only with the beach for peace, quiet & serenity. The views of nature and wildlife are outstanding. Every picture you snap will look like a postcard. Stop at every pulloff and cabin you can, especially the old mill. It's like stepping back to a simpler, slower time.

Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountain National Forest is a beautiful place. It always has been. From the first time I visited it 40-some years ago until today, it has remained a gorgeous place to enjoy the beauty of the mountains. It is a shame that now there are so many people and so much traffic, that much of...
