We were a little concerned about the drive, hearing of the terrible roads. No doubt a high clearence vehicle is a must, however most of the drive is on excellent roads, except the last 3 miles. When we finally arrived at the edge of the earth,we were truly amazed. We were alone, with nothing but a light breeze and sunshine accompanying us.The Grand Canyon as it should... I visited this area of the Grand Canyon as part of an overnight tour and it was an incredible experience. All the area is beautiful and the views from the rim are priceless. One of the greatest things is the quietness there: It was in august and we were the only group there! All the other places I visited during... More

If you've ever seen the picture of the Grand Canyon looking straight down to the Colorado Rivr, that's probably Toroweap. Get a good map and a stout vehicle (a good SUV with 4WD is fine) and go. You won't see many people. You can camp out, and the sunsets, sunrise and stars are magnificent. Can get pretty windy, which may... More

From Las Vegas we hired Pink Jeep Tours to drive us to this remote spot of the Grand Canyon. It's a long drive but it is absolutely worth every minute of it as you see some spectacular countryside on the way there. Our guide was amazing and so informative. When we arrived at Toroweap, after the last 60 miles of... More

Toroweap Point must be the most photographed spot in the Canyon - and it is easy to see why! More

We were part of the TA group that went out to Toroweap. I echo everything Ohio Hick had to say. If you have a 4 by 4 high clearance vehicle-- it is SO worth your while to visit this area of the Grand Canyon. No crowds- no facilities- just nature. Definitely go prepared in case of a flat tire. Not... More

A group of Trip Advisor contributors, spouses, family and friends invaded Kanab, Utah, for a few days of outdoor fun. One of the day trips that we organized was a drive to Toroweap, a remote overlook along the north rim of the Grand Canyon. We had 18 folks who decided to take the drive, so we put together a convoy... More

I have wanted to visit Toroweap for 30 years and finally got to the area. Knowing that the road is historically a car killer, I had rented a small SUV to get there. Considering that the SUV would not be covered in such off road conditions and after reading another review here at Trip Advisor, I let Will James of... More

We've visited the South Rim. We've visited the North Rim. Then there's Toroweap. I never would have believed there are any places left in the United States where you can walk as close to a 3000 foot vertical precipice as your nerves will allow with no guard rails, no wheelchair friendly ramps, no lawsuit driven, mind numbing signs warning ignorant... Toroweap, also called Tuweep, offers fantastic views of the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The 61 mile unpaved 4WD road is a "tire eater" so we hired Dreamland Safari Tours to take us there. Our guid Will, not only made the drive seem effortless, he offered great insights into the geology and natural environment of this beautiful area. Well... More
