We visited on a Caravan Tour. The Canyon is truly spectacular. We stayed in the El Tovar Lodge and had some meals in the Bright Angle Lodge. The free shuttle buss is definitely the way to see the North Rim. Desert View was a stop the we made on the tour bus and was really worthwhile. The lodging and food... More

Drove from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon this weekend. Had been there before, but didn't have a camera that time to capture impressions. It is about three and a half hours from Phoenix. You rise in elevation to about 7,000 feet as you approach Flagstaff, AZ. It is $25 to get into the park. I only went as far as... More

While I have never been to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, I have been told the North Rim offers solitude not available at its southern counterpart. I can certainly confirm the solitude. I drove to the North Rim via Rt. 67 in November of 2011. The drive in was one of the absolute highlights of the trip. A... More

While everyone says the south rim is more spectacular, the beauty of the north rim is relative quiet. Because of the limited accommodations, I think, there is just less of a crush of people. There are great trails everywhere, from the simple, accessible trails new the North Rim Lodge to some all day hikes (and of course, for the adventurous,... More

It was so neat to find snow at the North Rim after running in 80 degree weather at the bottom. This is a beautiful place, but there was not water in April and not many people around. Just take it in for all that it is...

I think everyone should see both rims of this world wonder. The South has so much to offer and the North is quieter, magical. We had our own cabin which was for sure the highlight! Mules ride, hikes, views from restaurant! ALL WAS WORTH THE DRIVE TO THE NORTH RIM!

The lodge at the North Rim will provide several options for hiking and driving. While it is impossible to find a bad vantage point, I suggest Point Imperial, Roosevelt Point and head down to Cape Royal; where you won't be disappointed with the hike out to the edge of a terrific observation ledge.

We have been to the South rim of the Grand Canyon, which is VERY different than the North. I would say the "South" is more "spectacular", in that the view is much wider. that being said, the North Rim is VERY beautiful & HUGE (deep!). The hotel on the property is magnificent....with a GORGEOUS view from the lobby. Nice trail,... More

north rim is an interesting hike in the national park. we had a great time hiking all around and we really suggest it even if, and this is only our personal opinion, we found more interesting the south rim

The North Rim to the Grand Canyon was my favorite. Lots of trees and cooler weather than the South Rim. Loved sitting in the Lodge by the fireplace!
