I am not a huge fan of Botanical Gardens, but this one was incredibly impressive! Coming from Canada, it was impressive to see that the gardens could support plants from all over the world, year round! A must visit place in Sri Lanka. There are lots of wild nature examples in the garden: big trees, monkey and bats. More

We are not much interested in botanic things but it was nice spending there 2 hours of peace, we saw monkeys and bats. The orchids are very nice. The price for tourists was 22 times more expensive than for locals. More

The garden is very well maintained and everything is great. It takes few hours to visit it. It was quite impressive experience. This is a huge park with acres and acres for greens and flowers. While we were there, it so happened that a huge branch from one of the older trees had fallen off, luckily no one was nearby when it fell. Spreading over more than 140 acres this unique place with it's over 5000 species of trees, bushes and plants will stay long in your memory and the collection of orchids is unbeliveable. Coca plant (plant including cocaine, that privemal Incas' and Aztecs' power-aid) could also be seen "live" - quite interesting! More
