Compared to CO where I'm from lift tickets are dirt cheap. I would say get there before February, as it rains in February and turns to ice. If you have an avy pack bring it and getready for untouched amazing riding. More

Likes: very well connected and many slopes for advanced skiiers and begginners. Dislikes: would have liked to see more intermediate slopes without moguls. More

Mainly a skiers hill..good groomers and runs - could be a little steep for beginners...you'll need a couple of days to get around the whole mountain. Cheaper tickets are available - ask your accommodation for details... More

I went to Niseko and Happoone this year and found them to be both great. To be honest, it is all about the weather. If you got some clear days, those are the best, but if it is coming down and hard to see at the top, your choices are limited. One thing I really liked about Happoone over Niseko... More

Visited the Hkuba ski area in Feb 2012: stayed in Hakuba Goryu but also visted and skied at Happo-One and Cortina. The Goryu and 47 ski area is somewhat limited in terms of ski options and (as a skier) you have to keep a close eye out for lethal snowboarders! The Gryu and 47 area looks a bit tired and... More
