I have been to Yudanaka a few times. Yudanaka Onsen has long history, and there are many Ryokans （Japanese inn) with character. Famous one is ”Kanaguya”, the one appears in ”Spirited Away” （2001 Japanese animated film directed by Hayao Miyazaki).

I loved our stay in Yudanaka. Such beautiful countryside and seeing all the pring water flow throu the town is amazing. I love the cobbled streets and everyone clomping around in wooden shoes and bath robes. Highlight of our trip to Japan.

We liked the traditional flavor of this ryokan, situated on a quiet lane in Yudanaka Onsen. The owners are an old couple and are very kind and helpful. We had a room on the second floor which faced the inner courtyard. The ryokan had an outdoor and indoor bath. The owners had scheduled it so that men and women can...
