But as my wife and I browsed, we got chatting with Alan, who quickly ushered us into the bar for an impromptu tasting class. It' s great to find people with a passion for their subject and I added to my knowledge and my whiskey collection :) I'll try the tour next time.

If you're travelling along the A4059 through Penderyn either coming from or going to Mid-Wales do not miss the opportunity of visiting this wonderful attraction. Very informative tour culminates in a tasting session which will excite anyone's taste buds. If you haven't already done so, you must sample the delights of Penderyn whisky.

if you go i would recommend coming via Brecon, the scenery is simply stunning, the distillery itself a fantastic find, did the guided tour which ,although quite short,was very imformative, the tastings are more like full measures so make sure all whisky lovers let someone else drive!!!!,, that said you do get the option of taking home a minaiture instead..

The hour long visit was very informative and our guide (Dave) was very talkative and knowledgeable . The admission fee include the option to taste 2 whiskeys or take home a miniature so it's good value for money.

Penderyn distillery is the only one in Wales and is well worth a visit if you enjoy a tipple of Whiskey.
