It is just a "MUST SEE" when You are in this part of the region. The Chateau is great with its magnificent view. And the village of Cucugnan is also marvellous. Just go there ;)

There are a chain of Cathare castles in this area. Read up on the history. Most of the occupants were either massacred at the turn of the thirteenth century or leapt to their death over the steep sides of the castles. Extraordinary faith! Pros:
- great castle romance and ambiance;
- perfect landscape, breathtaking views from the top of the chateaux;
- you could only get there by car, so I hope this place never becomes a mass tourism attraction;
- nature, mountain roads, pretty Cucugnan with its medieval windmill - everything were perfect.
Cons:
- August is not ideal month for visiting...
