“Warning if planning to visit the Underground River...”

We thought it would be helpful for other tourists to know that you cannot just turn up in Sabang and visit the Underground River like you would expect. It turns out that you need a ‘permit’ and this must be purchased in Puerto Princesa at the Philippine Tourist Authority office (a 2 hour drive away). There is no way possible... More

Guides provide no information about the caves themselves. All they can talk about are rock formations that look like food or religous items. For example oh look a bitter melon , oh look some corn , oh look the virgin mary oh look jesus christ. Information such as when the cave was discovered and by who, what rocks make up... More
