Worth a visit if you have the time and interest. I enjoyed the film very much but the costumes were okay. The number of items on exhibit were not many but the space of the museum was expansive. Was a nice walk up the hill post lunch with views.

I've never visited before a museum dedicated to fashion and this one was interesting. The building where it is located it is very impressive, the kind of place the would host contemporary art exhibitions. The museum contains a whole collection of designs of Cristobal Balenciaga, who was born in Guetaria. It takes you through a biographic journey of Balenciaga's life...

I was expecting more given the dimension of the name. A very sparse selection of objects and displays on exhibition, and very few means for those not familiar with Balenciaga or his history to learn about him.
Spectacular garments displayed in a beautiful setting. The audiovisual displays are particularly intriguing and provide a unique insight into the structure of the garments. Very impressed!
We went here honestly because it was too rainy to drive along the coast. The museum is a treat if you're interested in the history of fashion and its role in society. There are computer generated animations of how some of the dresses or coats were assembled and we watched them all. The videos that came along the way were...

A striking modern construction tucked away in the charming streets of Getaria. Contains a treasure trove of historic designs from the 20's-60's. Worth it for the cocktail selection alone! No mention of the modern day house, bit odd. Well worth a trip though.
i was dragged by my fellow travelers to this museum, which is a modern design in a beautiful seaside village. The museum is incredible:well laid out and a series of rooms with designs/costumes by Balenciaga. Despite myself I had a great time.
We were advised of this museum to Balenciaga by the owner of the hotel we stayed at in Mundarka. The building alone is worth a look.If you are into fashion this is a must.
A surprisingly large museum in a small town. If you are staying nearby then it definitely worth a hour or two of your time. It is well laid out and has information in four languages. As it is about a designer the exhibits are mainly dresses and coats but despite that there is still enough for people who have only...

sad to arrive on a gloomy weekend in Bilbao. we are staying in Mutriku and have no idea what to do other than sunbake. So, we were pleasantly surprised when our tripadvisor app came up with this! couldn't believe our luck when we walked into this modern building (attached to an old house) in this busy little town.
the dresses...
