Take the lift up there, it is a killer walk/climb. The lift is free for 65+. Great views. There is a cafe in the grounds. You can stand in the little towers you can see from the harbour. There was an art exhibition when we went perhaps it changes each season?

Staying with family in Rojales, the four of us decided to go for a drive to Alicante and see the Castle of Santa Barbara. We found our way through the backstreets and up the switchback road to the top of the hill, and once there we found parking very close to the front entrance of the castle. This is a... More

Stunning views over Alicante and along the coast. Fast lift takes you straight to the top (it's very high up). Really easy to visit and added a gem to the trip.

When having walked up to the Castillo you have a fantastic view of the city. The view is the same even if you take the elevator, but the beer you drink at the restaurant definitively tastes better.

I took the tourist bus to take a tour of the city and to my delight the bus goes up the hill to the base of the castle. You can then take the bus gain an hour later. It is a bit rushed to walk it in an hour, especially if it is a hot day. You can also take... More

Best place to get GREAT PHOTOS and get you totally PSYCHED for the beach!!! Gives you great views of the entire Alicante and feels really surreal with the birds flying around and gives off this cool, "top of the world" feeling. When I went, it was also free because there was a problem with the ticketing machine - so that... More

It's quite an effort to walk up to the top in the hot sun, but worth the effort. The Castle is impressive, and the views are great. Could do with better sign-posting up/down from the city.

I like taking the lift to the top of the castle. The views are fantastic. The history is also documented and you can wander around taking in the background of it's origins. There is a bar also where you can have a drink after walking around. You can see the whole expanse of the bay and also the city behind.... More

There are many ways leading to the top, and all of them are quite steep. So instead of highheels you better wear some hiking sneakers with a grip. For your way down, chose another option than you did upwards. You may encounter different views. Have your camera with you, for the breath-taking 360°-panorama. Unless you are not disabled, don't chose... More
