We were touring around the Apple Pie Trail up from Kitchener, Ontario and stopped at a few places along the trail, but the best experience wasn't even marked on any of the literature we picked up. What a cool adventure to share. The guided tour along the escarpment was very educational! I discovered that we are the largest wilderness area in southern Ontario making up an astonishing 5,000 acres of wilderness. Not only that, but this area is about 280 - 380 degrees above sea-level! We had an amazing day snowshoeing in the forest with our guide from Freespirit Tours and then wine tasting at Georgian Hills Vineyard. Although they apparently can't call their frozen wine "ice wine" it is really nice and there are 3 varieties - grape, pear and apple. My favourite was the pear ice wine with cheese, the flavours are incredible.... More
