Review of Dylan's

Staying locally, we were recommended Dylan's by our cottage owner as we wanted a dog-friendly, family-friendly restaurant for a large group to celebrate a 40th birthday. Dylan's did not disappoint.
Lovely customer service in the lead up to the day, dog biscuits left on the table, fabulous staff, great atmosphere and views and delicious food.
It really was the perfect choice for us!

I called in at the Gazelle Hotel for lunch on a walk. I had an excellent lunch with steak pie, gravy & real veg: red cabbage, parsnips & broccoli. Good service, I will return. The Gazelle is in a great location with views across the Menai Strait. As it was low tide, I was able to walk along the shore from Beaumaris.

I am most impressed by how our staff member (so sorry I didn’t ask your name) looked after my mum who is disabled. I booked late due to a last minute decision to visit my parents. A belated Mother’s Day meal. I asked for an easily accessible table and for last minute, the restaurant was brilliant. However the bottom of the stairs table wasn’t a great location for mum (although we loved the different ways the chefs called for service in the kitchen) as other customers (not staff) kept treading on the back of her coat over her chair. I moved it in the end but this table could do with being a foot further away from the stairs (that’s 30cm to younger folk 😉). That said they fitted us in ground floor and we’ll book earlier next time (there will be a next time). Oh and food, superb. Can’t wait to try more menu items and bring other family and friends or maybe mum and I will keep this fab place to ourselves!!

Well, what can I say, John Evans who’s given this establishment a massive 4.8 must have visited on a poor day.
The wife and I attended here for the first time tonight, last time it was under the HydeOut banner which was several years ago. Greeted at the door by three friendly members of staff. Was shown to our table and a drinks order was taken not long after that. It was quiet for a Saturday night at 17:45, but gradually filled up as the evening went along.
First impression of the menu, can I have one of each? As I was just so indecisive of what to have. The wife opted for the tapas knowing damn well I’d help her with it.
I had the crispy beef with duo of rice, oh, and a tapas portion of the garlic potato’s brava’s (I like my food). The flavours bouncing around my tongue from this dish were like a mouthful of exploding candy, absolutely delicious!
The wife had, crispy chicken, Parmesan fries, garlic mushrooms and the halloumi ( we love squeaky cheese as a family) so that went down a treat, so, I also helped her with all this dishes too. No, I’m not an overweight person if you hit by what I eat, you probably think I am! We absolutely loved tonight’s food and will be returning very soon to see Richard and team in action! The wife hasn’t had her takeaway Ferrero Rocher cheesecake yet that you kindly let us takeaway!
Keep up the good work, best foodie place we’ve been to in a long time on the island!
P.S. Staff where all amazing, maybe could we just have the heating on next time :)

We have visited the Gazelle on a few occasions and have never been disappointed however our latest visit excelled. We booked a table for our daughter's birthday it was a quiet week night and when we arrived that evening we were the only customers at the time, every candle had been lit, the whole place oozed atmosphere the service and food was exceptional, we each had 3 different courses and they were all equally as good as each others (including the vegetarian options) we actually had booked with a Facebook discount offer and the whole meal and experience was that good we paid full price with a tip as it was well deserved. Thankyou to the whole team for making it another memorable experience.

Best food in the UK.

Forget 5 Stars give it 10.

Customer Service beyond expectations.

Traditional Ambience with authentic mouth watering food.

We have tried all the menu options and cannot fault the food.

The food is cooked 100% to your individual requirements just ask the waiter/waitresses.

As a family we eat at least once a week whether it is sit down or takeaway and have done since opening.

Ali the Manager,

Thank you for your great service and food, long may you continue.

Review of Chateau Rhianfa

I found this hotel on booking.com after deciding to extend my trip by one night. I used the search engine while on a break from work. I found somewhere I liked, made the booking, had my legally binging confirmation come through email and went back to work. On my next break I find an email from booking.com informing me that the hotel is requesting I cancel the booking with no explanation as to why. I messaged the hotel to find what had happened and received a message back telling me that booking.com had made a mistake with their pricing and asked me to call them on the number provided. It was after 1am by this point as I had finished work so I decided just to deal with it in the morning. The following morning I was woken by a phone call from about the most unprofessional person I’ve ever spoken to. They gave no real apology, offered no alternative to accommodate me, interrupted me and talked over me like I was a child and just demanded that I cancel the booking. It was like talking to a brick wall - unprofessional, unhelpful and borderline threatening. What professional uses the line “every other customer who made this mistake agreed to cancel so you will to”? They also admitted the mistake was the hotel’s and not booking.com - this is definitely not the customers’. There was an afterthought suggestion that I rebook directly with them on the phone number provided but also telling me how much this would cost me as if trying to put me off. Did they assume I couldn’t afford that price and as a consequence I’m not welcome at your establishment? I would have been willing to reach an accord if your staff could display some professionalism rather than demanding I just do what I’m told. I’m even wondering if this was some kind of scam designed to lure people in with unrealistic prices only to then tell you the actual price is more than three times the price they booked for. This also contravenes consumer rights as, according to citizens advice, once contracts are entered into, they have to be honoured. The room was booked and a confirmation email received. Your own terms and conditions state that the booking price is the price you pay and that they have no right to cancel unless the hotel is unfit for habitation or other event beyond their control. A mistake that the staff later admitted was their mistake and not booking.com’s is not an event beyond their control it is carelessness. But they inform me they have cancelled the booking regardless. Goodness knows how they treat you in person if the staff can be this authoritarian over the phone, or how they treat their staff.

Review of Freckled Angel

Had an exceptional lunch here. The beef in ciabatta was perfectly cooked and seasoned, melting in your mouth! Fries were outstanding properly cooked, crunchy on the outside, fluffy in the middle, and nicely seasoned. The ciabatta was as it should be, crunchy outside, soft inside. Portions were great, and the staff were very accommodating. Left feeling fully satisfied. Highly recommend for good quality food.

Took my friend out for her little birthday meal in Menai Bridge Dylan's. Perfect table looking out to the Straits. Lovely service and fab food as always. I had the hake and my friend had the prawns for main. Sticky toffee pudding is a treat for pud choices too. My friend had ice cream choice. Can't fault the place and have visited on so many occasions now. Thank you to the staff as always. You have the perfect service. Attentive but not intrusive.

With the place just having a full refurbishment the pub hasn't lost it's character but looks fresh and inviting. We as a party of 6 where seated and drinks taken straight away. We placed order for starters and mains and didn't wait long for food to arrive. When we finished the mains 3 of us just had enough room for dissert and didn't have to wait long for that.
Definitely highly recommend as the food was amazing, portion size was very generous and the service was excellent.
If you've got any dietary requirements they are happy to cater for you if possible.
Will I go again YES.
Will I recommend YES.

Review of Theodore's

Very disappointing food and even more disappointing to find the Owner/head chef was not present which we guessed was not planned.
All front of house staff were great and we guessed kitchen staff were doing their best but we think all of them had perhaps found themselves in very difficult circumstances. Our dissatisfaction with the food was dealt with professionally and very pleasantly with the outcome to our satisfaction.
Previously we have had very good meals there, but sadly we will not be returning

Review of Dylan's

‘Hello there’ as Lisa R seems to write all the time. Yeh ok night, good service, food nothing special but basically my Braised Feather Blade of Beef was not as I expected. It was ‘pulled’ beef which I hate and it was not mentioned on the menu that it would be. If it had said that I would not have ordered it. It tasted like string. I did ask our waitress if I had received the correct meal and was told I had. Of course just like all the other reviews that have complained, I was offered another dish (as they always do) but what’s the point. I had eaten 25% of my meal, my wife was eating her meal and I ordered the main choice I thought I was going to like. Ask your chef to check all the menus on Google and they are not like this. You’ve asked me to write a review so here it is. Finally perhaps this is actually ‘like you always are’, as you seem to disagree with other similar comments, and you and your staff need to listen to your reviews and not believe ‘it’s not like you’.

Excellent meal, brilliant service from start to finish. The food was so good we will definitely be back! Feel bad we didn’t leave a tip we had no cash and had no chance to add onto our bill. Please pass on our thanks to the staff. We were there 15th March around 1330.

We had a lovely meal at Dylan’s it was fresh and delicious.
They were very dog friendly ( no sitting us in a corner away from everyone else) and treats available.
The only slight criticism would be that the service was very fast ! We would of liked more time between courses.

Review of Dylan's

This was a lunch time treat for myself and a friend. Sadly, it was far from what I expected and the visit was very disappointing. We were in the "conservatory" which was lovely and warm, nice view and attentive staff, but the food was a total let down. I had the mushroom and lentil linguine which arrived luke warm and lacked any real flavour. I'm really not a fussy eater as long as the food is vegetarian, but I would not wish to try this food again. My friend had a small portion of the seafood linguine and there really wasn't any seafood to be seen and her portion was the same size as the full priced meal I had ordered. With a glass or red wine each, and an almost invisible side of chunky chips, I paid £52 for lunch which was far from a cheap experience, memorable for all the wrong reasons. I would not be able to recommend a visit to this restaurant - the price did not reflect the taste 😞

We had a lovely Tuesday evening meal for a friend's birthday. The food was really delicious. I found it slighly over-priced. Service and environment were good. Lovely and warm even by the window on a cold evening.

Absolutely loved this bar. Very quirky, very friendly and the best cocktails I think I've had out in years. I like that they consider who they let in. We were actually there for 60th birthday drinks but I actually ran into a work colleague and bought him some drinks. Just so you're forewarned, if you visit and pay with card, the transaction will show on your bank statement as Sexy Good Time Bar Menai Bridge. Hilarious! Caused some raised eyebrows at work this week when it showed up on the bank statement - love their sense of humour here and the drinks selection and quality is unparalleled! I would definitely recommend!
