Review of La Colombe D'Or

By far one of the best restaurants in the world, French classics at its finest. Everything here s absolute perfection. The service is exceptional alongside the stunning food

Review of Lis Orto

The setting is lovely and the service is top notch. The decor of the restaurant was not as much to my taste (light fixtures, chairs), but I care mainly about the food when I go out to eat. My vegetable tian was delicious but my daughter’s cucumber gazpacho was pretty awful. Her other dish (I’ve forgotten what it was; I’m old) was so bland and boring that I took pity on her and gave her half of my tian. We were a party of five and, except for the cucumber gazpacho, everybody else enjoyed their food.

This was a most delightful place to stay and the very best accommodation we've ever experienced in all our travels. This is no five star hotel. It's a lot better, especially for people who are looking for a local flavor with personal attention, charm, and all the amenities you could ask for.
Luc, the proprietor, and his son, Michael, are two of the nicest hosts we've ever met. They both made us feel at home. They are very special people, the kind you just want to know and befriend.
There are two rooms you can reserve in this historic building, one on the ground floor and the other above. Both are modernized with updated facilities without spoiling the character, spacious, clean and well adorned with objets d'art, so much in keeping with this artsy village. We had the ground floor room for four days. I only wish I had stayed longer.
he apartment had two rooms - a bedroom and a sitting room, along with a bathroom with shower and a kitchen with a good sized refrigerator and cabinets well stocked with food and wine. Yes, wine!!! Windows offer amazing views of the surrounding beauty, and they open for fresh air if you want. We had freshly baked, delicious croissants delivered to our room daily by 8 am. The rooms are well lit, the shower is excellent, the bedding is very comfortable, everything is clean and Luc is always available if you ever need something.
It is just perfection! Honestly, my wife and I both agreed that this is the nicest place we've ever stayed in anywhere.

Review of Le Tilleul

, has it really been 8 years since we have been here? Well, the outside terrace and pleasant wait staff are still agreeable. Perhaps it was a matter of what we ordered. But they have an Italian Olive Oil on the table, and perhaps on their salads that wouldn't cut it in Italy and shouldn't be imported for use in any place that aspires to serve good food. Also, there were slivers of truffle on my salad that didn't have any taste or smell. I have never had truffles past their prime before and don;t intend to do so again. My Croque Monsieur was OK, but nothing to write home about. My wife seemed happier with her cheese and nut salad.

It is a problem. In a business that caters to very transient and sometimes clueless tourists, there might be a temptation to cut corners. But this is France a place that prides itself on fine food. WE were disappointed.

2nd time we have stayed. David & Jeanette are so welcoming. Our grown up kids (26 - 30) joined us later as a surprise for my wife’s birthday. They loved the place as much as us. Peaceful, scenic location, immaculately decorated and clean. Visited Nice, Monaco, Antibes all easy drive, dinner in the old town, a short walk away was perfect.
Honestly the most relaxing place we have stayed, we definitely will go again.
Thank you David & Jeanette.

Review of La Colombe D'Or

Although the food and service was excellent, the head waiter needs to go back to attitude class.

We reserved a table a few days before but we got a frosty reception and were kept waiting on arrival and blah blah can't be bothered to recount as it was tiresome and maitre d had far too high opinion of himself and his position. Fast forward to the actual meal in the garden. Setting, food and the rest of the staff can't be faulted. Lovely sea bream and gratin side, chicken frickasee with a delightful raspberry vacherin desert. Art inside not bad either in fact the interior is super classy. Lose the headwaiter and you'd have a fiver star review from me.

Review of Toile Blanche

We had a beautiful dinner here to celebrate my birthday in mid January 2024.
The food and service were outstanding and the decor, ambience of the restaurant just right. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We also stayed at the hotel for 3 nights - this hotel is up there with the best hotels we have stayed at - nothing to fault. Beautiful property, stunning rooms and a great staff.
Breakfast was excellent as well.
Can't wait to return!
